Damit dies möglich wird, müssen diese Medien im entsprechenden Anpassungsprozess an unsere Sprache und Kultur angepasst werden. Der Begriff Kultur spielt bei software program und Filmen eine besondere Rolle, denn sie enthalten neben sprachlichen auch kulturelle Inhalte und länderspezifische Konventionen, die nicht nur in Texten sondern auch in Bildern auftauchen. Diese müssen bei der Anpassung unweigerlich berücksichtigt werden. Die auf die jeweiligen Medien spezialisierten Anpassungsprozesse sind unterschiedlich, dennoch verfolgen sie das gleiche Ziel. Das jeweilige Medium soll so angepasst werden, dass es der zielsprachige Nutzer problemlos aufnehmen kann. Unter dieser Prämisse können die Synchronisation von Filmen und die Softwarelokalisierung überhaupt gemeinsam betrachtet werden. Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit hat zum Ziel, die Synchronisation von Filmen für das deutsche Publikum aus der Perspektive der Softwarelokalisierung zu beleuchten. Dafür wird die Synchronisation als eine shape der Lokalisierung dargestellt. Dies ermöglicht eine völlig neue, bisher noch unbekannte Sicht auf die Synchronisation und macht deutlich, wie sehr sich diese Disziplinen ähneln.
